If you have multiple quilts, please have all the above information for each quilt, and email us!
After we receive your request, we will be in contact asking for any clarifying information if necessary, an invoice, and shipping address or to schedule a drop-off if local.
- Do not pin or spray baste. Longarm machines load all three layers separately, and therefore don’t need basting!
- Ensure your backing is at least 4 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides. For example, if your Quilt top is 60×60, your backing should be 68×68. Err on the side of too large rather than too small. If providing batting, please send it slightly smaller than the backing. We trim to the quilt top edge on request and all your trimmings will be returned to you unless you specify otherwise. Significant amounts of batting that is unwanted will be used for quilts destined for donation.
- If your quilt and/or backing is directional, please safety pin a note saying UP or TOP to the top of the quilt and back. We do our best to orient things correctly, but sometimes things happen. A note is very beneficial if you are particular!
- If you can, please run a “stay stitch” line about 1/8″ from the edge all the way around the quilt top. Especially if you have piecing to the edge, this helps stabilize your quilt and stops any seams from popping on the outside of your quilt.
- Please square up your tops and backs. We are happy to piece and square backs for a fee.
- Please clip and remove any stray and loose threads from the top.
- Press your top and backing well. Some light creases due to shipping/short-term storage are fine, but if it has been in the “to be quilted” pile for a significant amount of time and has heavy creasing, please press before sending it to us.
